Christmas wishes

This time of year is ideal for celebrating family and friends, and I’m writing this post to do just about that.
Looking back at 2024, most memorable moments were linked to experiences shared with enjoyable people. I previously underlined how I rediscovered the importance of companionship, and I continue to experience its effectiveness in creating worthwhile time, both with long-time friends and complete strangers.
Still, I made a new realization this year: the human tendency to make comparative statements. I distinctly remember a company dinner this year where a few colleagues said that they were grateful to work with the best people in the world. I learned to avoid making such claims because they are impossible to prove and, most importantly, they are comparison metrics. As a result, one is not valuing an individual per se but relative to others (making them only a unit of measure following Wittgenstein's Ruler principle). I believe absolute compliments, such as you are a great colleague, are far more appreciated and truthful.
And now something different: a call to action. My friend Simon gave me the idea to ask for personal thoughts through a survey. You can share anything you’d like to say to me using this link (I won’t close it).
I hope you spend these days with wonderful people around you!
